This peeler is reliable in use and gentle on its subject. Peelers cut too deep. They are particularly good for peeling asparagus. Removing the thin, tough skin with a less-fine peeler often results in the loss of most of the soft flesh inside. Because it only removes the thinnest layer, this peeler is ideal for preparing asparagus for cooking. The only drawback: pointed tip. It's sharp, but not sharp enough to easily cut off the eyes of a potato. I scratched myself several times using the peeler without proper care. In terms of product design, I wouldn't use this as I don't typically use this potato peeler, mainly for finer work.
