The Ultimate Pulley That's Almost Ultimate: A Review of XDP35BB

I would be lying if I said that the XDP35BB wasn't impressive. With its CE and UIAA certification, this double pulley with ball bearing is ideal for a range of activities including rescue, lifting, hitch tending, and even zipline climbing. However, I couldn't help but feel a little underwhelmed. While the swing side plates definitely add to the XDP35BB's functionality, the pulley itself was a bit clunky to use. The ball bearing system worked well, but the overall design left a bit to be desired. All that said, the XDP35BB is certainly not a bad purchase. It's a reliable and sturdy pulley that gets the job done. However, for the price point, I was expecting something a bit more refined. All in all, I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars. In short, the XDP35BB is a solid choice for those in need of a heavy-duty pulley, but don't expect it to revolutionize your gear collection.

Pros
  • The double pulley design, along with the swing side plates and ball bearing system, allows for smooth and efficient movement and operation, making it ideal for various applications such as rescue, lifting, hitch tending, and zipline climbing
Cons
  • The pulley's ball bearing mechanism requires regular maintenance and cleaning to keep it functioning properly, which can be time-consuming and inconvenient
