Two cats, two thumbs up

I'm always interested in finding a quality grain-free dry cat food for my cats, and Wishbone Roost Grain-Free Gluten-Free Cat Food seems to fit the bill. The main ingredients are chicken (from New Zealand), fishmeal, tapioca, chicken fat, peas and flaxseed. As I understand it, as an ingredient in dry cat food, tapioca serves as a binder or thickener to replace grains. Peas are gaining popularity as an ingredient in cat food as a source of protein, which, while not of animal origin, is superior as a legume to corn, which is more of a bulking agent. Both of my cats succumbed to this Wishbone dry food. The packaging has a freshness stamp, a legible list of ingredients and an easy-to-find expiration date. A fun note is that I accidentally ordered chicken feed at the same time and it came with Wishbone cat food in the same delivery box. and given the adorable chicken illustration on this sturdy yellow bag, I thought for a moment I had two different bags of chicken feed! In fact, the bag illustration is very nice and also shows fish, as Grandma Smith claims, and pots of basil, rosemary and thyme, in reference to some of the extracts included.
