I am VERY glad to have read so many reviews on this product. I set up a small tank for planting and add some florin base to a small cup to rinse out. I can't imagine what a nightmare my tank would be if I didn't spend 15 minutes filling and flushing it, repeat. to nausea. Then fold back on a sieve to rinse a little more. I only used about 3/4 cup and could have recontaminated the pitcher's mound at Safeco Field with washed dirt. (I'm not a fan of the new fuchsia lights, so it'll stay "safe" in my mind.) Glad I tried a small amount first rather than jumping into an entire bag for a large tank. Heed EVERYONE's advice and flush, flush, flush! For those red colored plants! Let them grow where I planted them!
