First, its getting hard to find a decent replacement band for the Gear S3 Frontier. When I saw this one, it was worth a shot for the price.Its comes with the attachment hardware, and extra rod, and a screen protector that I have no intention of using, but thanks for extras.1) there is no way this is leather. Not by any stretch of the imagination, unless it was harvested from a balloon animal. Its some kind of weird foam plastic material. Feels and sounds like paper. Has a hard time getting where you are trying to make it go, like the buckle or the stays once its fastened. It does not look like, feel like, smell like or act like leather. Just feels off.2) it is soft though, and tugging on the hardware, they feel like they will hold. The soft is due to the foamy core material. Its not uncomfortable but also not quite comfortable as it retains its memory a little too well and does not want to conform to the wrist.3) may or may not last.Too new so I can't speak to its durability. Just by how it feels, I expect that it won't last very long. It will either wear horribly, or just fall apart rapidly. Time will tell.Going to keep it as it was cheap and keep looking for a better replacement.Update: 5 days in. I can't stand it.The silicone band that came with the watch moved with your arm and all of its daily movements which in turn gave some relief in the form of air circulation especially under the watch itself. This foam band has no life so it can't move.Its is the absolute worst feeling. The underside of the watch is stuck to my skin all day and I have to take the whole thing off for any relief.Getting it on and off is difficult because the foamy paper like material has no grab whatsoever and slips and the material still has retained so much of its original shape that trying to bend it otherwise is a task.I have worn it for 5 days, so I can't return it now, but I have learned a valuable lesson, this was not worth the effort I have put in let alone the cost. Into the trash it goes.
