Not the best choice for home theater.

I think this item is for commercial use. I was trying to send video and audio from my office PC to two HDTVs in other rooms of the house using a 24 AWG category 5e fixed cable. One TV (at 50ft) picked up no signal at all, and another TV (at 100ft) ran at 720P but dropped frames from full screen videos. The sound on the TV that worked was perfect. I tried 3 different graphics cards from 2 different manufacturers; XFX HD5670, XFX HD6770 and Sapphire HD6770 Flex. This splitter shows up as a display device on the computer, but tries to power 2 different TVs. It just doesn't work. If both TVs were the same model, maybe it would work. I ended up with a couple of different Tripp Lite extensions (ASIN: B001JEPCDQ) that allow the computer to see any TV as a display device independently. I had to run more cables as these extenders use 2 cables each, but they work at the 720p resolution I want. With the Sapphire Flex graphics card (ASIN: B0056J9JAM) I can use up to 4 independent displays. I should have done that first. Update February 26, 2012: Upon further investigation, the Tripp Lite B125-150 (ASIN: B001JEPCDQ) extension I was using at 100 feet was also dropping frames. The B125-150 I use at 50ft seems fine. Just wanted to update this as I stated in my original review that it works. In fact, I used a Cable Matters HDBaseT extension (ASIN: B005H4Y6TA) on the 100ft run, which works great.
