Update 2-11-2021: After 2 weeks of use we decided to remove the inner strainer and waste drawer and use it like a regular tray with a lid . The interior space is too small for our adult 9 lb cat to go about her business. We had more trouble cleaning the crate because dirt was constantly clinging to the plastic and her chair often ended up either on the entry step or outside the crate. There just isn't enough space for the cat to move around in the box. The first number has her body completely inside the box, which means her back is against the back wall. So the urine just lands on the plastic, and when she covers up, all the dirt lands on the plastic. Now that we have more space, let's hope we don't get any more surprises from poop outside the box or litter on the walls. If you are looking for a tray and are reading this review, save some money and buy a regular tray with a lid. It's easier to scoop out the trash than flip that fancy tray upside down and back again. If you must purchase this tray, make sure you get the largest model on offer. Original Review: We've been using this tray for almost 2 weeks now. One thing we noticed is that it's not as easy to clean as we first thought. The idea of turning around to catch the litter and rolling it back sounds simple, but the litter doesn't always stay in the box. The drawer end is tapered. So if the waste hits the back wall while rolling, it simply gets stuck in the small cavity between the drawer and the sieve. We ended up tipping the box towards the opening before rolling it so the waste fell into the box. Secondly, we noticed that dirt particles kept getting stuck in the drawer. I'm not sure if it's because of the junk we use or something else, but we end up having to clean the drawer every time it empties the box. We plan to try another brand of filler and see if it improves. And the last thing is the size of the box. We are normal size. It looks pretty big, but 1/3 of the space is taken up by the trash can screen. If you have a large cat, you can opt for a large box instead. Before this box, we used the main compartment with lid. It turned out to be easier than this roll box IMO.
