easy installation. I chose this for my Land Rover LR3, this car has glass everywhere including the entire roof. I used it immediately and noticed poor performance. To use this antenna properly, you need to wipe it to check the SWR. I used the MFJ-226 and could see the change in SWR in real time as I turned the small screw. I managed to get the antenna down to 1.24 but when I added the ground clip it dropped to 1.19. Again, trimming is easy if you have the right tools. The SWR at 144.100MHz was 1.45 and at 148.000MHz it was 1.50. It fell to 1.19 at 146.675 MHz. I had a hard time understanding how to use the ground plane. I have found it effective if you tighten the fitting on the hook to keep it in place. Look at the photos. If using a ground clamp, make sure it is perpendicular to the whip.
