Good actor. in CB & Two Way Radios

I was skeptical about the glass antenna but I was pleased with the performance of the device. It's not as good as the Larsen 5/8 wave roof mount, but with careful tuning this antenna performs more than adequately. It's comparable and slightly better than the 5/8 shaft when I put it on the edge of the truck bed to get in and out of my garage. 50 watts is way too much for this device, but it should be fine for lower powertrains. Works great with my 5w portable DMR.

Nice Anrenna for antennas

I installed a bracket between the top heater wires and the top of the rear window on our Nissan Frontier. The SWR was flat (the needle didn't even move) and was reported to be dead dead in the repeater for 13 miles cross country. Complete silence was also reported from a two-radio simplex two and three miles away over the same type of terrain. I think we'll like it a lot more than the magnetic mount it replaced. This is a much cleaner setup. It took about an hour to install the antenna and…

Fell off before first use. Bad adhesion. I do not recommend.

Installed according to instructions using the cleaning cloth provided. I let it dry for 36 hours before driving. The outer adhesive pad including the antenna itself fell off on the first day of riding. The temperature range, including installation time and the first day of driving, was 70 to 80 degrees, so there shouldn't be any temperature problems. I have installed many similar adhesive products over the years and have never had a problem with this type of drip. Of course, it fell down…

Extremely impressed

WOW I was a little dubious about how well this would work but I needed an alternative. I didn't want to drill holes in my new Denali and it's impossible to run coax everywhere. This was an easy install, I installed it on the right hand front windshield as my rear window is tinted and defrosted. After installation I connected the slider and set it to 2m with SWR 1.07 and 70cm with SWR 1.31 and was able to do 50 miles in full mode with the 2m repeater and with the 70cm D-Star repeater at a…

Good antenna. suitable for portable audio and video equipment

I was pleasantly surprised by this inexpensive antenna. Easy to install and works well overall. As expected, it's not as good as a magnetic mount or fixed antenna. It's somewhat directional, being mounted on the rear window of a pickup truck. This works with factory tinted Nissan windows. DO NOT install on defroster wires. This antenna is narrow band as it does not pick up NWS frequencies as well as the advertised bands. Win as you would expect. I would buy again. This was written a few years…

Great antenna, don't forget tuning!

easy installation. I chose this for my Land Rover LR3, this car has glass everywhere including the entire roof. I used it immediately and noticed poor performance. To use this antenna properly, you need to wipe it to check the SWR. I used the MFJ-226 and could see the change in SWR in real time as I turned the small screw. I managed to get the antenna down to 1.24 but when I added the ground clip it dropped to 1.19. Again, trimming is easy if you have the right tools. The SWR at 144.100MHz was…
