WOW I was a little dubious about how well this would work but I needed an alternative. I didn't want to drill holes in my new Denali and it's impossible to run coax everywhere. This was an easy install, I installed it on the right hand front windshield as my rear window is tinted and defrosted. After installation I connected the slider and set it to 2m with SWR 1.07 and 70cm with SWR 1.31 and was able to do 50 miles in full mode with the 2m repeater and with the 70cm D-Star repeater at a distance of 53 miles in full talk mode. I used a 5/8 with a magnetic mount and couldn't get the same results as with the low SWR. With that decision, my wife allowed me to fit a ham radio in her Tahoe, so I ordered 2 more antennas for her and my boat.
