Review on ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Enhanced Canon PIXMA G4210 Wireless MegaTank All-in-One Inkjet Printer by Rich Schobinger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

5 stars but five warnings

This seems to be a really great printer - the first inkjet printer I've owned in years. Print speeds are fast and color images on plain paper are almost unbelievably good. The scanner is fast and captures fine detail and is recognized by other applications such as Photoshop. Overall, there aren't enough flaws to give it less than five stars. Disadvantage No. 1: Printer setup - probably - via WLAN. However, if your WiFi is password protected, this method will not work during initial setup. The manual doesn't acknowledge this and sends you through an installation process that only works for the second and later connected computers. You end up having to use a USB connection and they don't supply the USB Type B cable you need. Drawback #2: During the installation, there are several processes that take time, but the program doesn't provide any status updates. After five minutes, you might be tempted to think the installation is stuck. And in at least one case it was. Disadvantage #3: There is a very good online guide and a shallow one. The first consists of hundreds of pages and has a real table of contents. Have no other. It took some time to find the best one. Cons #4: The LCD is tiny. Everything would be fine if it was backlit. No, that is not so. I can't imagine why they thought saving pennies was worth the poor user experience. You have to look at the LCD in the right light to see what it says. If you have limited vision, this can be a deciding factor. Cons #5: Printing from the Canon Android app. Pooh. I haven't gotten the hang of it yet and for some reason my attempts to print a small color photo end up oversaturating my regular paper with muddy colors. This use is not very important to me and I can improve it after a few tries. But now.
