I used 5 lightbulbs of 200 watts. And man, light stuff. Exactly what I was looking for to illuminate the area of my project. The fuse supplied is 5 amps, I changed it to 7 amps to support the 5200 watt bulbs I bought. In general, this is better quality of light than LED (higher color rendering index), and it's cheaper too. I put a photo screen in front of him to smooth out the light and see even the tiniest markings on the cables when working on projects.

Well proven replacement for the very hot and energy intensive Lowell Omni halogen studio light with Chimera lightboxes. And with LED bulbs fitted in the socket, the studio stayed comfortably cool at full brightness. Having 5 separate switches was a definite plus. Let's see if the device holds up.

I bought these because the softbox mounting ring looked really nice together with some 50w led bulbs. The softbox mounts easily enough, but the head tilt support just can't hold the position without pivoting down, it's so small it can't support the weight. If I could send it back I would, but I've only been able to try and use it now. This can work well with a beauty dish or flat softbox, but not a decent size for portraits.

Received this yesterday and didn't realize it didn't have an umbrella holder. I live in Costa Rica so couldn't return it, figured I'd change the ring, I just drilled a small hole for the umbrella stick to go through the hole and tie back with a vencro wire tie on the back arm, the change took time about 5 minutes (10 minutes for both) and worked great, the only thing is that when changing you have to move the ring a bit to align it with the plastic mount and you lose the top socket because the…

Although the light works well I needed a light for extra illumination. The softbox in the 3rd question doesn't work. I don't understand why they answered this question BADLY! Lamp holder works as expected. I like that each output can be controlled independently. But the switches should be labeled which outlet they control. So I added small labels under the switches. As others have said, the plastic clip is a bit flimsy. I put in four large 105w CFL bulbs (the middle socket couldn't be used due to the size of the bulbs) and the bracket went up. I had a 35" x 45" softbox that was not used for years due to lack of a matching CFL light head. I stumbled across this item and ordered it because it looked like it might work and the price was very attractive. I used a Chimera light ring on this softbox when setting up flashes. This CFL head fits perfectly (I recommend removing the light and just assembling the softbox with a metal ring, it's much easier).
