If you're just going to throw this rug on the floor for a few days to be "pretty", no big deal. But it's definitely not a practical machine washable rug. I bought two for each side of our bed so we didn't have to walk on the hardwood floor. It's not plush but soft, albeit very thin. i like the color And the length was perfect for the bed. I washed one to see how it would look afterwards... Absolutely awful. I washed gently and tumble dried on a low setting. Maybe it would be better if it was air dried? In the picture with two rugs, the unwashed one is on the right. It is clear that these rugs cannot be machine washed. The strap will pull up and it just won't lay flat again. It also doesn't have the original soft look. After 4 weeks it still doesn't lay flat so it goes in the trash. About $20 a rug, obviously I don't have a lot of money, but it's still disappointing.
