Good workmanship and good sound, comfort is overrated

I really like this headset. I bought it to use with my PC/PS4/iPhone and it works very well with all three. The headset itself uses a single 3.5mm jack for power and audio in/out, so I bought a 3.5mm in/out splitter. with my desktop, but it turns out I didn't need it as the headset itself comes with a USB to 3.5mm adapter that offers true Dolby Surround sound. That means true surround sound is unfortunately only possible from PC, not PS4 or Xbox. Instead, they get stereo sound. The construction itself looks high-quality and durable, as do the plastic parts. However, it's very loose. Not only is it because I have a small head, the headset doesn't have enough clamping force to keep it on my head and it slips easily. Also, the headband is too easy to adjust in my opinion, so it loosens with occasional use. The mic boom is some sort of hard rubber material so it's "flexible" but not really easy to pose as it just snaps back into place. In addition, mine has a slight crease, which is a bit visually disturbing, but does not affect the functionality. The memory foam headrest is an extremely soft foam, much softer than I expected. It doesn't offer much support, but it ensures your head doesn't touch the bare plastic. Likewise, the ear pads themselves don't seem to be of the quality I expected. They're not particularly soft, and when pressure is applied to them, they make an audible clicking sound that sounds like something inside the speaker is carrying force. In terms of performance, I was very impressed. I'm not an audio expert, but I found the sound to be good. I can hear game and chat sounds clearly, and my friends can easily hear me through the microphone. When playing music, the headset suppresses and reduces ambient noise well. I could listen to music while mowing the lawn without touching my ears. The cable is long enough for comfortable gaming on a computer, but not so long that it's ridiculous when used with a phone or tablet. It is supported at both ends by a soft plastic structure to prevent damage in these areas. I also appreciate having the volume controls and mic mute on the headset itself rather than the cable, so I don't have to catch a wrench on the legs of the cable when I want to turn the volume up or down. Also, it's difficult to accidentally press the volume wheel and change the volume, which my ears are grateful for. Mic Mute is a toggle with no clear indication, which can be an issue, but I usually leave it on all the time. Overall, this headset is great for multiple use or PC use. They are high quality and built to last with many quality of life benefits that other headphones have been lacking. The comfort is nothing special, but good for average use and I had no complaints after more than 1 hour of gaming sessions. Bought late May 2018, will update if they break but so far so good.
