Juice flows out of the holes in the bottom cup, or you can hold the handles upright and the juice flows through the hinge into a glass or container. I prefer the second way. This will prevent the seeds from coming out. However, there is still a small amount of juice left in the lemons, so I use a wooden reamer to extract the last bit. The pits remain in the lemon, so if using a reamer, the pits must be removed. Using this lemon squeezer and wood reamer is much faster than just using the reamer and is gentler on your hands (less aggressive on your hands). Easy to clean, just rinse off. Some lemon oil remains on the bottom cup, so I quickly wipe it off before rinsing as well. It feels like a tough task. So far it has held up well. And I really like the yellow handles and that part of the mug is stainless steel.
