I was having problems with Morton's neuroma in my feet and found the only thing that helped was a wide toe shoe. Unfortunately, there aren't many options for this and I mostly used the Altra running shoes. But Altras tend to have more colorful styling than I would ideally like, so I decided to give them a try. As advertised, they definitely have a roomy toe box and are pretty slack overall. They have a lot of space and I don't feel uncomfortable in them. The downside is that you can't tighten them without real laces, so you probably won't accidentally realize how well they fit you (especially without half sizes). And since they're probably a bit loose, you won't want to wear them on a hike or anything, as they're not very stable for your foot. As casual shoes, however, they fit and look good. Not as soft as running shoes, but still very comfortable. I'll have to see how well they hold up as one of my biggest issues with the Altra is how quickly they wear out. I hope I can get at least some summery things out of them.
