Before this mouse, I used a wireless mouse that required a mouse pad to read on my glass side table, which is now my desktop. It's a fairly narrow table, so my mouse keeps slipping off the mousepad, which always seems to be balanced on the edge. When I was looking to upgrade my wireless keyboard, I saw reviews of this mouse on a whim and they all loved it. I thought how good is a wireless mouse? Obviously a lot higher and higher than what I used. As you may have read, this mouse can be used on any surface, no matter how flat or shiny it is. I quickly got rid of my mouse pad which was starting to get dirty and wrinkled and now I love that I can use one mouse for both desktop and laptop. And I don't know if you're the kind of person who cares what kind of noise/click your mouse makes, but this mouse, while not silent, makes one of the nicest clicks I've ever heard/ have felt. Crunchy and elastic. In terms of comfort, the grip/shape feels very natural for my medium sized hands and is ergonomic.
