It does what it promises. It charges the battery. However, he wants the battery (or at least mine, which is the standard battery) to be removed from the radio. It was weird because it looked like he could handle it over the radio. Adjusting the plastic pieces that guide the battery (and now the radio) allows the radio to stay connected. So almost perfect for me. I wouldn't leave it plugged in for long, I don't think it's smart enough not to power the battery. and if the battery doesn't have electronics to prevent overcharging, you can ruin the battery over time. I plug it in for the evening when I'm done with it and unplug it before I go to bed. worth your money.
