Review on BIC America FH6 LCR 6 5 Inch Frequency by Jason Przystup

I ordered this because I wanted the center channel to stand out on its own and still sound good and this speaker does that brilliantly. Some people say that horn tweeters are too bright but that's not my experience as they are clear, precise and bright but comfortable and not overpowering. I've been playing for just over 30 hours and I've already noticed that the speakers are getting softer and softer, and there may be many more, but they sounded good out of the box. With 6 1/2" woofers this now matches the two 6 1/2" woofers and midrange in my towers and the 6 1/2" woofers in the BIC DV62si Surround and they all work very well together to create presence and my subwoofer is nothing special as it's the 8" Onkyo that came with HTIB that I started with, but even from the two center woofers there's enough bass. The center channel differs in the sensitivity of the horn tweeter and overall speakers, so now I can hear those quiet passages of conversation that have been muffled by all the noise from other channels in the past, and that makes a big difference in the movie where wanting to present it overkill across all channels as a "wow effect", but at the same time I missed a critical dialogue - that's a thing of the past now. I especially like its accuracy and the fact that it is clearly audible. I will say that the cabinets are nothing special and they may have skimped on them a bit. It's not terrible, but spartan might be a good term. If I don't stand and look, all I see is the grill directly. Although the grille looks normal it's fine and I usually leave grilles on my speakers but without the grille they look pretty aggressive with a big horn in the middle. BIC makes the PL-26 which is virtually identical to this but costs more and has a fancy painted body if looks are important. With the grille on this speaker, it looks so ordinary that nobody expects the kind of sound coming out of it until they hear it. Effects that movies are made of today, but which can also be added and still make quiet dialogue sound loud and clear. Forgot to mention that it's also great for music, jazz, classical and rock. Very pleased and would recommend to anyone looking for a great sounding center speaker that can reproduce those quiet passages clearly and audibly. Where else can you get such a good speaker for so little money?
