I recommend these pillowcases. Reading reviews of other pillowcases I find they are just as good as the half price ones. This pillow is not 100% waterproof, it is only waterproof. The smell of dog urine definitely comes through. The smell sometimes goes away after the pillow has been sitting and airing for a day, which makes me think it's usually just smell and not urine. But urine (or water, etc.) also sometimes escapes. Perhaps penetrates through the seams and zipper. I can't understand - the inside of the pillowcase stays dry when I pour water on the pillowcase to test. Despite this, I have decided to keep, use and recommend them. IMHO they are still the best option. Reviews about all other pillowcases say the same thing - about the same problems. About 10% of reviewers always say pillows don't work 100%, even with more expensive pillows. That makes sense - they all have the usual stitching and zips that are probably not waterproof. I can buy twice as much and wash twice as often. Or I could double wrap the pillow in two covers if I wanted to. I'm pretty sure this gives better results than paying double the price for a more expensive pillowcase that has the same issues. The fact that they are machine washable and tumble dry is fantastic. Not all of these covers are suitable for tumble drying. Reviews about them are good. Despite the smell, these covers do not allow me to wash the whole pillow every time, only the cover. Washing the whole pillow every time is a lot of work. Pillowcases of this type are always covered with a soft cloth on the outside. I wish it wasn't because it soaks up urine and needs to be washed after every fall. Personally, I recommend turning the pillow plastic side inside out so I can rinse or wipe up the urine with a cleaning spray and continue using the pillow. Pillowcase (at least for a dog pillow). I also recommend leaving the zipper slightly open. This should solve the problem that people complain about trapped air making the pillow uncomfortably balloon-like. It happened no matter what.)
