I used this to attach a chain to a vfr800. I lubricated the tool well before use. The tool worked as expected, but I noticed that the chain riveting tool part looked almost worn by the time I was done with it. My chain is fine since I installed it on my bike, but you need to buy another piece to rivet another chain. I don't think I would recommend that if you have a bike you change the chain from time to time and it would be difficult to keep buying one of these tools. I would say that it is probably better to buy a higher quality device. If you were sure, but otherwise spend a little more and get something more durable.
