Review on Michelangelo Delta Bike Stand by Robert Chandrasekar

Works but has flaws

I think this stand is pretty cool. It gets the job done but has some design flaws and looks a bit cheap. I don't regret the purchase, but I probably won't buy one again. However, it is relatively inexpensive compared to other bike racks and again, it gets the job done. One of the supplied screws could not be installed. The holes in the two pieces just don't line up properly. I tried and struggled but there was no way I could find the right angle to screw it in. So I installed it with the screw missing, which I think should be fine as gravity will hold the top by itself. In any case, it hasn't fallen apart in 2 months of use, so. Big? Another problem is that the legs don't have much endurance. I have it on a hardwood floor and I have noticed that it slowly slides forward over time. Twice I had to take my bikes out, adjust the trunk and replace them because they had slipped too far to be comfortable. I may need to find better grip rubber shoes for him. Perhaps this problem could have been avoided if I had attached the top to the wall with a screw (the rack comes with a top strap for this purpose, but I skipped this optional step. The good news is that it holds my bikes holds up well). Once I positioned and turned the knobs properly, they stayed in place. The first day was a bit rough and I found my bikes rocked one way or another; It takes a bit of trial and error to get the handles positioned correctly. Relative Height The number of grips depends on the geometry and weight distribution of your bike. Try to rotate them as much as possible while maintaining balance. I want the front wheels to stay in place because they can turn over and get stuck. To prevent this I attached one of the auxiliary hooks between the top front wheel and the wall, but this is a bit awkward. He does his job with a bag hanging from him. in general a decent product. Nothing fancy, but it works and is relatively cheap.

Pros
  • Quality Steel Construction :: This high capacity vertical bike rack securely holds up to 2 bikes and has a combined weight of 80 pounds. Sturdy rubber feet keep this bike stand secure while protecting the floor.
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
