I bought this brace because it has added structural support on the back and I felt it would provide more support than other braces. Unfortunately, the shoulder straps and waist straps are one continuous strap with the intention that tightening around the waist creates the necessary tension around the shoulders. Since there is no way to maintain tension in the shoulders, the practical effect is that the tension in the shoulders is not held and everything around the abdomen becomes tight while your shoulders fall freely to the starting position. (I should also note that I don't have a large stomach (BMI 20-21), so this is a design flaw, not a body flaw.)
