I have thin rubber cases for Airpods Pro and iPhone 8 Plus and they both charge without problems. The base is solid and the rubbery texture not only feels smooth but also holds my phone in place with no issues. In addition, I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of an additional feature that I did not see but was not mentioned in the description. The charging indicator on the front is actually 3 separate lights, each of which lights up separately for each device that is being charged. I love this feature as I can see at a glance if my watch has accidentally stopped charging or if it has collided (this happened all too often with my previous charging station). The only thing that isn't perfect about the mount is that my Apple Watch has a "loop strap" and even at 42mm the dock is too wide for the watch to sit flush. It still charges with no issues so it's not a problem for me in the long run which is why I still give the product 5 stars.
