Great light for reading in a dark room/plane/train. It's also nice to use in a dark car when the car's overhead lights bother the driver. I haven't used it long enough to drain the battery. I attach it to multiple pages, not the back of the book. This allows me to place the light where I need it most. It's bright enough, although I wish the neck was a bit longer to better illuminate the entire page. Of course it depends on the size of your book, but I've encountered the same problem with both a medium paperback and a larger medium hardcover book. It is no problem for me. I just wish it was longer. The two brightness levels and the ability to rotate the light are nice features. Several reviewers complained about the loud click when opening/closing. It's noisy but doesn't seem to disturb my sleeping spouse or my neighbors on the plane. Unsuitable for me as a bookmark, too bulky, but perfect as a clip on a reading lamp. Light, thin (for light), bright. It's a pity that a protective cover was included. I did it on a sewing machine, but that may not be an option for many people. Highly recommended!
