The tubes are the right size to hold a larger piercing hole (2mm) which I like and that's why I did Bought them however after I soaked them in alcohol once overnight to sterilize them all the small stones fell out. They're still functional, but I'm not happy with how "stoneless" they look. The screw head is also not easy to attach because it is very small. I noticed one of them disappeared after showering, so maybe don't wear them in the shower. Finally, have someone guide you under your earlobe and pull the plunger on the sink the first few times you try to insert them so you don't lose your head in the sink like I did on one. :-(
