Seems Decent - my new review

DRO works like it should and measures accurately. Setup is pretty straight forward, the instructions provided do not have anything on installation but Google and YouTube will get you by. The brackets provided will probably need to be modified and all hardware is metric.Had to specify lengths and Mary was quick with getting things finalized and made sure things were correct before shipping.

Can't beat it for the price!

Surprised at how fast this arrived. Ordered Monday received Saturday with xmas in between. Box arrived ok but hardware bags had split and screws were rattling around in the box. But overall I think packed quite well. No mounting instructions but not too hard to figure out. A dimensional drawing of scales would be nice. Mounted on a Bridgeport so brackets included were of no use to me. You will have to build a bracket or two for y and z just like on an exspensive setup. Fairly nice lightweight…

The scales require some planning to install, and the generic mount brackets were of little use to me, but the scales are great

Excellent DRO best in my review

Great DRO. Very accurate. I was a little nervous about cutting the glass scales. but found it to be very easy. I scored the glass with a Dremel and then it would snap almost straight.

Three Axis DRO Smithy

Nice product. Install was challenging, but doable with some creative thought. When ordered, they mention if specified lengths are needed leave message. Instead received over sized lengths as listed per order. Two out of three scales fit perfectly. However, carefully cut/shortened the "Y" by 200mm on a cold cut saw. Worked perfectly and scale too. Happy with the results/product, but not the supplier communications skills.

Display failed after having for 6 months

After having the unit running for 5 months the display will no longer do the startup self check. Upon applying power to the unit, after 3-5 seconds part of the display will flash for less than a second without the start up beeps. Waiting on seller contact get options to fix or replace. Followed the trouble shooting guide (if you can call it that) in the back of the manual without any change. Plan on making most of your mounting hardware.

I installed this product on my Rockwell 21-100 3-axis milling machine. There are no installation instructions included, but "ToAuto" does offer an install video on YouTube. The guy in the install video made this seem like a "slam, bam, thank you mamm" install process. It's not.Had to make most of my own mounting hardware. The only hardware I used from the kit was the metric screws to mount the read heads, and 4 of the 6 "L" brackets, which all required being corrected to a 90° true angle. All…

Displayed resolution is Truncated

Resolution should be higher. Only shows position to the thousandth despite 5um scales. I have one from another manufacturer (same scales) that displays to 5 decimal places. Don't see any way to change it.

Great setup for $300.

I mounted a 3 axis setup on a 1950’s Millrite knee mill. Needed to fabricate custom brackets for each end of the scale, and the reader head. The mount bracket arm for theReadout is a bit sloppy, and sags when mounted to the ram, but with some skill, and a minor rework, getting level is possible. I’ve used the $2500 Accurite digitals during myworking career, and these are great digitals. Bright screen with plenty of settings options. I highly recommend. Mounting is not for the amateur machinist.

Exactly as described in product overview.Was delivered on time.Took a bit of work to plan and install, which is to be expected.Installed on a Rong Fu 31 mill / drill. All axis have proven to be very accurate when leveled and parallel with the mills X, Y & Z axis (scales level / parallel +/- .0005").
