Yes, the glass is thinner than normal beer glass. In terms of weight and thickness, they are more like glasses for fine wine. I personally love it, I think it enhances the experience of appreciating a good craft beer. But I would be careful not to unveil them during the Super Bowl or New Year's Eve. I hand wash all beer/wine/cocktail glasses so can't comment on dishwasher safety. Overall I am very happy with the purchase, they are exactly what I was hoping for.
