later When restoring vintage electronics, the fabric wrapped cable is a nice finishing touch for an authentic look. There is a real looking wire, but it's hard to find and expensive. This is a convenient and easy way to reconnect the plug because the plug is already firmly attached, and the price is reasonable. My problem is that dark brown doesn't look as original as copper to bronze to me. I've included a picture of a braided lamp cord that I also use, which I feel is closer to traditional vintage colored wire. If the color of this Creative Hobbies cable was more copper I would give it a higher rating. However, this is a good product for hobbyists or those who are remodeling a lamp and want a more original look.
