Fur. bloated. best in case fan

I tried to modify your GPU cooler with one of these fans. I chose the slim version to make sure it would fit in the case. In short, even though the fan is directly on the heatsink and centered over the GPU, it didn't improve heat dissipation at all. I tried games at the highest resolution I could run them at 1070 and the heat from this fan was higher than the fan. I think I can increase the fan speed, but it seems like this defeats the purpose of being less noisy and not as cool. I'll try increasing the speed and see how loud it is compared to the howl of the stock cooler, but I already know this unit is pretty loud at full speed. I think I can try the move and push/pull variety. By the way, I had a standard fan cooler on my 1070 and it was damn loud. It's noticeably quieter, but I still notice the fan spinning and blowing hard. This thing can't be quiet with the best will in the world.

Pros
  • 4-pin PWM version for automatic speed control via 4-pin PWM fan connectors, wide speed range 500-2200 rpm (max. 1700 rpm with low-noise adapter included)
Cons
  • There are Cons
