Big things come in small packages. Wanted a Win7 system as my Win7 laptop failed early due to hardware issues. A laptop is no longer necessary as smartphones and tablets can do everything I need on the go. So the mini desktop seemed like a great compromise. The HP 705 is small and typically quiet. It's only when I'm doing intense stuff like Photoshop that the afterburner kicks in and then the fan kicks in. Even then it's not that loud. About the same white noise as my ceiling fan (I'm in Arizona). Removed some HP software that was there for remote maintenance because it's an enterprise box. The ONLY downside was that the manuals were in PDF format on the SSD. Industrial fair. Clicked on the PDF file and found that Acrobat was not installed. Are you kidding me? How to read manuals without Acrobat? (Apparently downloaded Acrobat.) This was a DUMB mistake on HP's part, but not enough to lower the rating to 4 stars. Win7 got and set up. Seems fast. A 100GB SSD partitioned for W7, the rest is mine. More than enough. A friend saw the HP 705 and he's going to order it and get rid of his old clunky big desktop. Out of curiosity I downloaded Win10 (after making a copy of the Win7 image) and W10 found incorrect/missing drivers etc. I spent some time cleaning it only to encounter new problems. Had similar issues when testing W10 on my Lenovo W7 laptop. In both cases I restored W7 with saved images. While this has nothing to do with the HP 705, it shows that the W10 has update problems. So I'll stick with W7 at least until 2020. The HP 705 is a great mini desktop. I don't play games so I can't talk about it but for everything I do it's more than enough. Someone else mentioned how fast it loads. It really is like that. I don't even bother with sleep mode anymore, just turn it off when I'm done.
