I bought these hiking shoes in black with white soles, size 12. I also usually prefer to take the wide size, but it was out of stock, and with the 'round head' design advertised by the brand, I realized my feet would be comfortable. Then I went for a 5 mile walk. The fit of the shoe is best described as snug but ok (I wore trainer socks which I don't think are great). After walking, the toes did not feel pinched and walking was comfortable. However, keep in mind that while the open mesh construction lets your feet breathe, it also lets rain through. At such an extremely affordable price, these shoes are great for hiking trails as you don't mind if they get dirty and worn out. I also find them ideal for those who are on their feet all day for work (waiters, bartenders, painters, gardeners, etc.). Or to work on DIY projects around the house.
