I didn't order this for a coffee maker, I ordered it as a filter for a fountain pump in a terrarium. I ended up having to buy another pump and then I couldn't use this filter. But it seems well made and of reasonable quality for the price. Although the little handle was a nice feature because if you're really going to use it in a coffee maker you'll have to pop it out. The grid looks pretty good, so I think it will at least filter the regular bases well. You can have problems with very shallow bases. And in search of one of them, I read a lot of reviews about different brands. People will complain about the mesh detaching from the plastic frame. With this one, the mesh appears to be sandwiched between two parts of the plastic frame. So it looks like it's going to work fine. Based on this I am considering getting a basket from this company to use in my Black and Decker 12 mug.
