Review on Meguiars G55032SP Complete Car Care by David Bar

Great set at a great price

I bought this set because I was planning to buy most of these products anyway and it was a lot cheaper as a set. All products work very well and are of a very high quality as you would expect from Meguir's. Car soap has a pleasant smell and easily removes dirt without scratching the car's paintwork. Wax really impressed me. I work at sea, washing and waxing my truck a few days before departure. My truck sat in a dusty gravel lot for two weeks and when I came back it still looked freshly rubbed. It usually looks like someone took the cast off my truck and forgot to wash off the rest. So, yes, the kit was worth it for the wax alone. The shine of the tires is excellent and probably the best I have ever used. It's a very thick gel that's a bit difficult to get into all the nooks and crannies, but it provides a very long-lasting shine and protection for your tires. Be sure to get a foam applicator as it is not easy to apply with a microfiber cloth. The interior finisher works very well, providing a barrier against dusk and stains without leaving that nasty oily residue like some other products. I hate using greasy products because they always make my dash shiny and the residue seems to trap more dust and fibers than a matte finish. The wash mitt works very well and is very soft so I know it won't scratch my paintwork. My only complaint is that it's a bit difficult to clean and I see having to replace it soon. I smeared it with resin while driving over a stretch of freshly paved road and that material is now an integral part of the glove, although it's only a very small smudge. The foam applicator is a little disappointing, it feels porous and unreliable and doesn't really stick, was better than most cheap foam pads I've used. That's not my tire cleaning mat. I have not used any plastic upgrade product as my truck is fairly new and I don't have fogged up headlights. A drying towel is fine, but I prefer real suede over synthetic. maybe nostalgia. It works great but just doesn't have the same feel. The only thing that really worries me is the Clay Stick, while I like the Detailing Spray and it will find plenty of use for touching up between washes, the Clay Stick just isn't aggressive enough to work properly. Personally, I would go for the Mother's Clay Rod Set if you want a good removal of dirt and stubborn materials. good long-lasting shine on their vehicles.

Cons
  • Lots of stuff
