Review on ๐Ÿงฉ Puzzle & Dragons Z Super Mario Bros. Edition - Nintendo 3DS by Louis Asok

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No microtransactions

It was surprisingly decent. For those who don't know, it's kind of a 3DS port of the free mobile game. I say a kind of harbor because some things have changed. The biggest is the removal of all microtransactions and nonsense that the business model generates. So things like timers, "premium" currency and lottery machines are gone. This alone is a significant improvement. However, on top of that, they also added a basic storyline to the game. It's nothing fancy, but it can be a small addition that motivates you to keep playing. As a bonus, a completely separate second game dedicated to the Mario universe is included. Although this one seems easier. All mechanics seem more understandable, and when you start the game it is recommended to start with this version if you are new to Puzzle & Dragons gameplay. However, I have found that the difficulty increases much faster than in a normal game. Regardless, you can play each of them or, and your progress is saved separately, so there's nothing wrong with trying out any of them. I would say it's a good value. You get two games in one and none of those awful microtransaction shenanigans. The story is simplistic/boring yet still maintains the match 3 gameplay you might have seen on your phone. This is a good time waster, best played in small doses at a time. We found that the difficulty increases much faster than in a normal game.
