I really wanted this Kensington vertical mouse

I really wanted this Kensington vertical mouse to be nice, but I don't like it, mainly because of the size (it's too small). I wear an XL work glove and measure 8 inches from the tip of my middle finger to where my palm meets my wrist. I have to start by saying that I have been using a vertical mouse at home and work for a long time (last 3 years) and it has definitely alleviated my tunnel tunneling symptoms within a month of switching from a traditional mouse. I have a Sharkk wireless model (which looks identical to the popular Ankar wireless model (like a shark fin). The Sharkk/Ankar model was great and fits my hand well in terms of depth (retracts deep into my palm and fingertips don't go past the buttons or the end of the mouse), but like everything else, it's not perfect when my pinky pulls on the mouse pad as the mouse doesn't support it and/or the mouse isn't big enough I considered the Logitech MX Vertical Wireless Mouse as a possible upgrade, but I had the opportunity to check out the display model in Staples to hold and it's small and too light/fragile (especially given the roughly $100 price tag; shame on you Logitech). introduced the Kensington Ergonomic Vertical Mouse (which appears to be identical to the Autley Ergonomic Wireless Vertical Mouse but has the advantage of containing removable batteries over rechargeable batteries). Most intriguing was the "look" of a higher profile and a shelf on the right-hand side for the pinky. Well it arrived today and the pinky shelf works (basically just the top of the pinky now and not the whole figure) but it's absolutely no taller than Sharkk/Ankar and unfortunately not as deep as Sharkk/Vertical Mouse Ankar either . When I place the Kensington in my palm (like a baseball in a glove), all of my fingertips extend more than half a finger past the edge of the mouse. And when I hold it with my fingertips on the buttons, there's a big gap between the mouse's tail and my palm that has no grip and creates an uncomfortable grip. The Kensington vertical mouse also didn't live up to the most important component for a vertical mouse - it's less vertical than the Sharkk/Ankar. It actually rotates your fingers and wrist back to horizontal (obviously not as much as a standard mouse, but more so than Sharkk/Ankar). I'll try to add pictures to show what I'm talking about. Anyway, this Kensington mouse is back. I'm thinking of trying the Delux Ergonomic Wireless Mouse with detachable palm rest (M618Plus), but I'm afraid it will be too small. I suspect most stock photos of computer mice feature small children holding them.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
