Great alternative to zip lock freezer bags as I'm tired of the freezer compartment. This device works with bags and tools 11" and under, nothing bigger will do. Simply slide the back toward the tongue making sure it goes through the pillow, then press firmly on the left and right sides until you hear a click on each side. Then press one of the three buttons: suction for dry food, self-compacting or suction for wet food (meat). First you suck out all the air, then you press "stop", when it becomes clear that no more air is being sucked in, then you compress yourself. After sealing, press the two tabs on each side to release them, and they are vacuum sealed. The self-sealing works great and it doesn't look like there will ever be any issues with the seal breaking. However, the suction power seems a bit weak and could definitely be stronger in my opinion. I've found that some of my sealed food still has air in it and I'm not sure if a small amount of air won't provide enough oxygen for a freezer burn, but I'll update this review if it does. All in all a great addition to my kitchen and I think it's worth it.
