As other reviewers say they are easy to use, small and have a somewhat limited range. But for the price they worked great. I received 4 and installed them all with the security code before our trip. They worked fantastic when we pulled out of the RV park onto the freeway. They have a limited view range of about a mile when in a vehicle. Running over or around a mountain greatly reduces the distance. They also worked great on walks/hikes in the national parks we visited. Again somewhat restricted spacing in ravines etc. With the security code we NEVER heard anyone else speak on our channel. In 14 days and 3300 miles. I think RVs reduce a bit the distance they can transmit. If I had to do it again, I might invest in something stronger. cable was included. We just left them plugged in while driving. Although we didn't use rechargeable batteries. :) We found that when left unplugged in vehicles, the batteries drained quickly and the range sometimes drastically decreased.
