Extremely short battery life and range

All battery reviews are correct, I should have heard. They never charge even though I left them 3 days in a row. After about 4.5 hours they are dead. I went and bought some regular alkaline batteries in case the rechargeable ones were bad, but the result is the same. My old Uniden radios can last for days on the same batteries. My old walkie-talkies are 6 miles long and these are 26 miles long and yet both give you about 1/4 mile. The extra tap is useless. I have to say that the sound quality…

Don't waste your money

I bought these thinking my mum has a bad phone and I could use them when her phone seems busy but it's not . The first set arrived on time, I put the batteries in and charged them. As soon as I turned them off, the batteries died. I tried again, same thing. I contacted Revain and they sent me a brand new set. I charged them until they said the battery was full and the battery icon didn't fully show. An hour later, all three were fully discharged. I repeated the process, same result. Now I have…

Great product for road trips, camping and just lounging around!

Very robust construction. Great product in every way. We were about 2.5 miles apart on a straight flat road and it was still nice and clean. Even through hills and curves you can still get about 1/2 mile or a little more. Using it on our overland trip was so much better and ten times more convenient than messing around with a phone. Don't leave home without them on any trip. I love the weather feature and also for a simple quick update on what changes can happen at the moment of notification…

Nice little radio with a lousy battery

We didn't have high hopes for these radios given their small size. We were happy to find them sharp and clear - at least 1/2 mile away - which would be our greatest need. The small size is perfect - they fit in a shirt pocket and are still easy to use. Now for what we don't like. The battery life is terrible - barely 4 hours with very limited usage! And it takes 12 hours to recharge! Don't even think about hanging them on your belt. The belt clip barely moves (but we had the same problem with…

Acceptable for kids, but that's where it ends.

My expectations of her were not justified. They are very small, which is what I expected. The volume of the sound quality band is great. Very handy layout. However, the removal is extremely exadyrated. I live in rural Vermont and can't even connect 2 miles away despite advertised 25 miles. No big buildings on the trail except for a steep hill and a few houses in the distance. Another big issue is the battery life. With a fully charged battery, they ran for about an hour before dying, with…

Completely unusable after two months

After a month of use, not a single radio lasts. I figured it must just be cheap batteries so I ordered new batteries which by the way were very hard to come by. After charging the batteries for the first time, the radios still do not charge. One doesn't even turn on when plugged in. One only works when connected. We have several other Midland radios that appear to suffer from the same problems as this one, although not as severely (they cost more). So I'll have to try taking them apart and see…

Small, fast delivery. seems to be normal, (for now) I will update.

Will be updated again as we've only used them once here at the ranch. Tested distance so far has been about 3 miles (from leaving the ranch) and no mountains. but many pines. it was static and hard to hear from that distance, and then it went away. We think you should have kept working. our batteries seem to be good. the vox is very clean here on 40 acres. unless we fall on a paintball field lower than the house. something a little fuzzy, but still works. Small, light and easy to use, 5-6 year…

Works well For 4 vans on a 3300 mile trip

As other reviewers say they are easy to use, small and have a somewhat limited range. But for the price they worked great. I received 4 and installed them all with the security code before our trip. They worked fantastic when we pulled out of the RV park onto the freeway. They have a limited view range of about a mile when in a vehicle. Running over or around a mountain greatly reduces the distance. They also worked great on walks/hikes in the national parks we visited. Again somewhat…

Good radio, BAD batteries

For a football official they work great. I like the private channel in case someone wants to try to eavesdrop and hear us. 38 private stations would be difficult to define. If anything, they're barely noticeable on the hips, and I use a headset with an overhead mic. The sound quality is superb and that's what counts. Battery life: Terrible. Just read other reviews and you will see that I am not alone. Why would Midland build a great radio and ship batteries that 1.) last a few hours if you're…
