I am an avid road cyclist and have tried many, many brands of socks over the years. Nothing lasted. I first bought them about 7 years ago (shorter haircut than this one). I walked around the house with it. I walked them short distances outdoors. To this day they have no holes, no tears, no tears. You haven't lost any shape or form, the gum still works perfectly! You've been through many, many washes. They survived four pairs of cycling shoes. I'm not sure if they're antimicrobial, but they don't smell like other socks I have, even after several rides without washing when sitting in my cycling shoes. To be honest I can't think of a reason to buy another pair - the only reason I bought a pair recently was because I lost a pair in the wash.
