VOLUME VERY GOOD

Tested the headset on a recent trip with my brothers. One has the same Lexin headset and the other has an SMH10. As you might expect, the two Lexins are a perfect match. Using universal pairing, we were able to connect to the SMH10 headset. However, the SMH device became the master and needed to initiate the call and only connect to one of the Lexin headsets. The SMH connection had to be terminated before the two Lexins would automatically return to their partner. I don't know if this is a weak link in Lexin or the universal pairing, but it was uncomfortable, to say the least. The range is very good. My brother purposely returned to check. I don't know if he was 1.2 miles behind, but suffice it to say it was quite a distance between us before the connection dropped. When approaching, the connection was reestablished without errors. The volume is excellent. I installed the headset on Bell's new modular helmet which has more wind noise than I expected but I could still hear my brother. The key is really making sure the speaker is using clear language. The headset comes with speaker inserts to bring the speakers closer to your ears. I didn't install them so they might help drown out wind noise. Since the speakers are hardwired to the device, there is no way to connect properly sized headphone speakers unless you cut/splice the wires. The FM radio function is great. In this case, the signal will be lost faster than if you drive away from the radio station antenna in a car. If you drive mostly locally, you'll love this feature. I highly recommend carrying the quick install guide with you until you master the key sequence for each application, e.g. B. pairing, radio, making/taking a phone call, etc. This is my first headset so I can't compare the ease of use to other products. They all seem to have knobs/buttons so I suspect the ease of use will be the same. I don't know when my next ride is, but I'll update the comment regarding speaker insertion and other issues that may arise. high. Save driving.
