Review on Eviciv Portable Monitor: Touch Screen, Built-In Speakers, 7-Inch Display (1024X600), MDS-702 by Bobby Cruz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It worked great. some time. (and then UPDATED)

REVIEW UPDATE: After my initial review, EVICIV contacted me to help resolve the situation! First they refunded my original purchase. They then also sent a new larger screen as a replacement (https://amazon.com/EVICIV-Raspberry-Touchscreen-Display-Housing/dp/B08L6J42VM/ref=sr_1_3). The new updated screen is much better than the original screen. what i got It has a much sharper image and is extremely responsive. The Raspberry Pi is completely enclosed in a built-in case on the back of the screen. While I haven't had it that long, it looks and feels like it will at least survive the original screen I had. FIRST CHECK: The picture was perfectly sharp, no dead pixels, the touchscreen worked great. When turned on, the screen flickered a bit. Turning off and on usually fixed the situation. Then the colors faded and everything became paler than it should have been. Then entire rows of pixels were glued in red or green. Not one row, but 20-30 rows at a time. Turning it back on several times usually fixed the problems. Now the screen is completely unusable and I'm throwing it away. I do not recommend buying this screen. Pay a little more and get a better product

Pros
  • UNIQUE DESIGN AND PORTABILITY - Screen without case and frame, you can install your Raspberry Pi on the back of the display and directly rebuild this mini monitor. This is ideal for people who want to use the screen for their own DIY projects. With the original stand, the display can stand directly on the table. The portable monitor is lightweight (only 165g) and easy to carry.
Cons
  • Restricted ports and entrances
