I was impressed by this bar stool. not generous but the wood veneer is thin so I can see that this bar stool is definitely not going to be an heirloom to be passed down from generation to generation. However, it suits my needs well. The seat height is 25" for the rack height. Bar stool NOT 26" as advertised. It's just a bit awkward for a 36" table for me (I'm 5ft 6"). I'm going to add a piece of wood between the seat and the legs to increase the height of the seat between the arms to 17.75", which works for me adequate (size 10 for a woman) but I can imagine this being a problem for a tall person.The backrest is low which I need to allow the stools to be pushed completely under the table.It's better than at all no ru backrest, but for everyday use I would recommend a higher backrest if you have the space. Assembly was easy and straightforward and took 20 minutes.
