Installed this camera on a 2011 Sorento to replace the stock camera. The original camera was connected to a tiny screen built into the rear view mirror. I replaced the radio with a second device with Carplay and first tried the stock camera on the rear camera input of the new device. Because the OEM camera was supposed to be displayed on such a small screen, the image on the new big screen was too blurry. In addition, the old camera is 9 years old and the picture is also a bit cloudy. I installed this camera using the original video wiring and connected the power supply to one of the reversing lights (the original camera uses 6V, this camera uses 12V by default). The picture is much clearer. The night vision doesn't seem as bright as the stock camera, but it's clearly visible. I only have two small problems with the camera. First, the display is slightly off-center due to the camera's position. As you can see in the first picture I placed the stick in the middle of the car. The second image shows the display as seen on the monitor and you can see the joystick is slightly off center. The camera is designed to be installed in place of the off-centre license plate display. I would think that the manufacturer might be able to compensate for this as it is always mounted off center on each car, but perhaps this is not feasible as it will be different for each car. Also, on my car, the rail you see on the screen doesn't match the width of my car. My car is a bit wider. It seems that the guideline is just overlaying the signal and there is no way to adjust it. As this camera is a generic model for many different cars I wouldn't expect it to match, but it's just something to note. BTW, at least on the camera I received, the lead can be removed by simply cutting the cable before installing the camera as per the installation guide. I may do it later as both of the above issues seem to confuse my wife (she is a novice driver) a little, at least initially. The other problem is just a potential problem. When installing the camera, I accidentally turned the camera over and the camera body broke in half along the seam that runs around the camera. It seems like the case halves just snapped together and I just snapped them back on. Haven't had any issues so far, but I'll take a look at the camera's durability and update this review.
