stools are VERY good for such a low price. I bought 5 and assembled them myself (45 year old female :). Just a few tips that helped me set it up quickly. If you have a drill/screwdriver, I recommend buying a 5/32 hex bit (I bought 9 or 10 packs of hex bits from Home Depot for about $6). I took out all the packaged screws first and put washers on them so I could easily grab them when I needed them and they were ready to be fastened. I then attached the seat cushion to the seat base (the shortest screws) and fully tightened these screws (be careful not to over tighten them with a power tool as the screw heads are easy to loosen with too much force - this makes them difficult to tighten later and the swivel stool tends to loosen over time and will need to be re-tightened.) Next (on a flat surface) I attached the legs to the bottom ring (using medium sized screws). Do not tighten them, otherwise it will be difficult to attach the legs to the seat base. Once the legs were attached to the leg ring, I flipped them over and slid them over the base, then attached with longer screws, again without fully tightening. Once all the screws were in place, I flipped the chair upright and tightened all the screws. VOILA! The first chair I assembled I tightened all the screws when assembling and this is the only chair that wobbled a bit. I attached it by gluing felt padding to the underside of one of the legs. I was hoping the chairs would be a little darker to match the wood on my island but they are pretty much identical to the color you see online - beautiful wood. The chairs are very comfortable, I hope they last!
