I love this little DAP! The tiny size and form factor are perfect for travel and discreet pocketing. The sound is rich, dynamic and detailed (but not harsh) with good separation between instruments and vocals. They turned my Beyer Dynamic DT 990 headphones to 70 (range 0-100) as loud as I would like. the need to convert them AND the fact that it supports internet radio PLUS it has the ability to stream TIDAL and decode MQA files which really puts this little player in the super hit category! The equalizer feature is also a very useful and effective feature. Oh yes, it also has a built-in stereo microphone that takes very decent recordings! The battery life is excellent. It's announced at 3pm and I'd say that's correct. The interface was confusing and even frustrating at first, so it takes some time to get used to it. But after quite a steep learning curve, it became very easy to use. Touchscreen colors and graphics are clean and crisp and can be dimmed or brightened at will. The build quality and finish are excellent. It lies very comfortably in the hand, it fits perfectly on the two middle fingers and is surrounded on both sides by the index and little fingers. It lacks any of the traditional volume up, down, play, FF, rewind, or power indicators, which I really like and makes it look more like an ornament than a device. You only know which button does what after using it for a short time. It also comes with a protective plastic case and protective films for the front and back. Without a doubt, the $99 R2 is a hell of a deal, far exceeding its weight class. I'm a very lucky tourist.
