While these shorts are true to size and comfortable, I would never recommend them. I bought these in blue and black for my teenage son because the zipped pockets are perfect for storing money and a cell phone. Trouble is, those flashes are terrible. When my son put his cell phone in his pocket for the first time, he couldn't open the bag because the cell phone got stuck in it. We shook this zipper for about 30 minutes until it kind of came open. The next time he put his shorts on I told him not to zip his pockets. Typical teenager, he got distracted and forgot. Same problem - zipper stuck, phone locked inside. The shorts are incorrectly made, the zipper is sewn deep into the material of the shorts. Thus, the zipper doesn't stop until it hits under the fabric. I had to close the zippers by pinning the safety pin horizontally, close to the top of each zipper so the zipper couldn't close completely and instead hit the safety pin stopper. They were black shorts. The blue pair doesn't close at all as the zipper teeth don't converge on one side. They don't connect when you open them so on the other hand nothing gets caught in these pockets as they don't have a zipper. While these shorts had potential, shorts with zipped pockets that can't be closed are pointless.
