I bought this extension cord to extend the headset cord to the sofa for convenient gaming. On first use, one of my friends said he heard an echo of his own voice in a chat, even though all of the audio went through my headset on my end. After some troubleshooting, including using my built in headset mic mute switch (which doesn't fix the echo), we were able to determine that adding this extension cord was the culprit. The conductor carrying my PC audio to my headset drivers interfered with the microphone conductor in the cable - behind my mute switch - and the resulting crosstalk sent all far-end audio signals straight back to my computer's microphone input. Poor quality cable with no inner shield. My hopes for a cheap solution for my headset cable, which was too short, were dashed. If you need an audio/mic cable, I recommend looking elsewhere.
