The product's metal handle is strong and firmly grips the sponge. lip question! They smell awful, like really bad. A chemical smell that has not gone away for more than a month. I have tried many times washing them separately in a mesh bag with holes and the smell is the same! I don't know if I got a bad batch or not. In any case, the pen is strong enough that I used my own eraser. It holds the rags which I roll up and tuck the knot into the holder. I wish it was a little longer but does the job. I just can't get rid of the sponge smell. I was looking forward to using it with sponges but I can't. Seller: Are you considering sending me another batch that doesn't have a terrible smell? If so, then I will re-evaluate this point.
