We installed a new chandelier in the dining room and the electrician highly recommended LED bulbs. After realizing that these bulbs weren't going to turn out the way we wanted, we decided to go back to incandescent bulbs. We have six of these in a new chandelier and at 25 watts the overall output was perfect and they dim well; also bright enough when high. Also, these bulbs are flat, which means they don't protrude beyond the hemispheres when you're standing in the hallway (a stone's throw from the dining room) and looking down at the chandelier - perfect.
